What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Make a project but do not configure a persistence repository
2. Go to /p/projectname/svnup

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I would expect something like "this project is not connected to a
persistence repository". Instead we get a beautiful "Error: 'str' object
has no attribute 'd_up'".
