Noone can predict when a filling will fall out or a cap will come lose, but everyone can be prepared for it with Dentemp Cap + Filling Repair kit! It is the premium dental cement that temporarily repairs loose caps and lost fillings, while providing instant pain relief until you can see your dentist!

A super quick post today because I thought this would be helpful to some of my paper crafting friends! I actually do still make crafty things despite the lack of evidence of such things on this blog for the past several months.

I was working on cutting out some pretty feathers for our MOPS theme this year and I discovered that I had lost the ratchet cap to my Silhouette Cameo blade. Of course I did. I knew as soon as I opened my Cameo back in December that I was going to lose that flipping cap. Because this is who I am. I am the girl who loses her house keys, favorite earrings and tiny pieces to important machinery.

I tried to just change the settings using my incredible strength but apparently I need to work out my arms more for that. And then I tried using an actual ratchet wrench and then I figured I would type this up real quick to save you the trouble of making THAT mistake. It does not work the way you think it would, basically.

Anyhow, I finally discovered that the little indention inside the Cameo that is meant to HOLD the adjustable blade for STORAGE? That one? The one I just learned is meant to be used to store said blade? IT ALSO ADJUSTS IT! If you lose your ratchet cap you can totally use the ratchet hole that is in the machine to adjust your blade. Like so:

LOL!! Somehow, perhaps due to over indulging I lost the cap to my bottle of VOB BIB last night. The question I have is does bourbon go bad if it is left uncapped? It really is no big deal I only have a quarter bottle left and it is cheap. I just wondered.

Corks tend to dry out, so might not do the work. Screwcap is the best, but the quality of screwcaps do vary- I like the standard japanses ones like. I got my Hakushu and Yamazaki bottle, I have seen similar on some old style bourbon bottles

Start keeping caps and corks. I have a small collection of them, as they come in handy when 1 out of 4 caps break (I tend to over tighten to reduce the chance of evaporation). Almost all screw caps are the same. And most corks are the same size.

The big news was that Meta (Facebook) lost a whopping $240 bn of market cap in a day. To give context to that drop number, it is higher than the entire economy of Greece, it is bigger than the total value of India's largest company!

And while such drops or rises will keep making the headlines, and there is every chance of a recovery as well, I wanted to share some of my thoughts on the volatility of the stock, and my views on the general prospects or challenges for the company.

Before I get into that, I must share a disclaimer. Our company does digital marketing and uses FB, Google and other platforms for advertising on behalf of our clients. At this time, we have not seen any drop in value from the FB / Insta advertising in India, and there has correspondingly been, no major drop in adverting budget allocations for these platforms. So, the challenges that I may point out in the article below, are probably applicable to FB at a global level, and in the US, in particular, in my guess.

Tech stocks of the kind have seen sharp growths as well. Thanks to massive liquidity chasing stocks, the multiples that apparently good companies got, had skyrocketed. There was no real justification to the multiple except for the fact that the market expected these companies to keep growing sharply high, for many more years. When this happens, any adverse news will equally impact the stock and bring it crashing down. The revenue forecast of Meta spooked the investors out, and this rapid fall happened. The high speed and algorithm driven transaction space only aids to such accelerated movements in the stock. News travels fast and has a snowballing impact on any run - whether upwards or downwards. But especially downwards. That would have also had a role to play in bring the price down so rapidly. The changes in Apple's privacy policy that have prevented the FB engines to access a lot of user data, is also blamed for the revenue drop. While that is true, the problems for FB are not restricted to this one fact. A consumer platform of the FB kind needs to be in constant evolution. Facebook used to do a great job of innovation in its earlier years, thereby offering users with interesting extensions and new features, which kept users coming back and spending more time on the platform. Unfortunately, innovation from the users' point of view, has slowed down tremendously. In fact, one could almost say that the interface has got worse, and users don't find the desired level of engagement on the platform. Most of the innovation that is happening, seems to be happening with the advertisers in mind, and not the users of the platform! Both on Facebook and on Instagram, the content that one sees does not seem at all, to be fine tuned to the likings of the user. This is the least that was expected of the platform, considering the billions of users it has, and the so-called AI/ML being used to manage this personalisation. Well, it does appear that the tech is not working well, and relevant, personalised content is not be seen. Instead, there is so much junk and unwanted content that is in your face, that it prompts for early exists from the platform. There is also excessive advertising that one experiences. Every second story on Insta seems to be an advertisement, for example. It often becomes hard to find content shared by your friends, as you keep seeing one ad after another. This again makes for a poor user experience. And does not bode well in terms of metrics like number of sessions, time spent per session, and the like. Also for these above reasons and maybe on account of the fact that different alternatives have emerged to take care of different kinds of needs that FB was addressing for people, many have chosen to move off the platform completely, or have inactive accounts. Now, while this might have been an ongoing phenomenon for long, it might have been compensated by new users joining and spending time of the platform. Perhaps a tipping point has now been reached where the exits and reduction in time spent, is more than the additions, and hence the net loss on user sessions and time spent. Which of course, converts to reduced advertising revenues. Excessive focus and dependence on meta verse may also be hurting. Personally I am not convinced that all of us are going to find it exciting and enjoyable to participate deeply and immersively in an AR/VR ecosystem for long. Maybe for some specific need, but not as our default online engagement. FB / Meta seems to be betting on this happening. Finally, perhaps the most engaging and sticky of their properties, viz. Whatsapp, continues to remain ad-free at this time. And also, from what I can say, the payment service on Whatsapp has also not really taken off. Especially in India, there are other platforms that have established themselves better on the digital payments front, and Whatsapp payment has not got traction, due to that reason.

In summary, as can be sensed, there are many fundamental reasons why FB / Meta has business challenges, and the Apple privacy policy change is just one of the reasons. If they have to come out of the situation, they need to fix the fundamental issues on priority.

Don't give up your search - even when you have little hope. Animals who have been lost for months have been reunited with their families. If you find your pet, make certain to inform all places you contacted and remove flyers. Otherwise, valuable time is wasted which could be used for animals who are still lost.

Check with local area shelters first - some shelters place animals up for adoption or even euthanize after a few days. In addition to searching local shelters, file a lost pet report with CAP. Your report will be held for 30 days while it is routinely checked against found animals and animals that arrive at CAP. If your pet is still missing after 30 days you can update the report.

Come on Apple, you can do a better job. I can even accept the 10 dollar plastic if I lost it. But a 8 dollar shipping fee for that tiny plastic? And I also cannot personal pick it up in the store? Do you think it's making any sense to get it for almost 20 dollar, which is 20% of the price of the whole product? The cap is maybe 5% of the weight and 0% of the technology. It is a design fail as you can see everyone complains about it.

I contacted Apple after searching for my cap for weeks. I explained that I had lost it and I was worried about damaging the exposed Lighting plug while carrying in my backpack. The support advisor was fantastic and shipped me a new cap, free of charge! Not only did they give me one for free, it was delivered the next day.

This may not be standard so I don't know if this is how they handle every case but without any 3rd party options, this was my only shot. I have been extra careful not to misplace the replacement (although I have no idea how I lost the first one to begin with..I am very OCD about my gear)
