I am new to Laserfiche looking to connect with other Solution Providers that have done time sheet development. We need a timesheet solution for our business and must either build in Laserfiche or buy something off the shelf.
I would like to see examples of what timesheet functionality has been built using Laserfiche to decide whether its good enough to wait for our development or buy something else now. I dont want to wait till we get to that phase of the project and then realize the functionality does not meet our requirements and we have lost all the time.
We have had good experiences rolling out timecards to our Clients using Laserfiche Forms, as long as the right expectations are set. Since Forms is great at capture, routing, and reporting on information, and this is what a timesheet is, it works really well. javascript/jquery customizations are almost a must with timesheets though, so I recommend being very fluent in scripting.
Great question! Laserfiche is a very flexible product and it can be used in many applications. With time tracking, Laserfiche Forms can be implemented (with scripting, as Chad mentions) and achieve great results capturing and approving time sheets.
Areas to look carefully will be your needs for reporting on time, by worker, by team, by project, overtime etc. And, to what extent this reporting needs to be historical. You may need to integrate to an HR system or Payroll system. Depending on your needs, you may require significant development.
In my example above, the scope defines where to look for the clocked items. In this case, I chose the agenda files and associated archives. For the block of time, I used lastweek to get the last 7 days.
I am not sure if this helps, but you may want to check out Tom Marble's timesheet.el. You should be able to install it from MELPA. Although it does not integrate with org agenda, this seems like the most thorough way to generate timesheet reports.
When you log in to Atlas, click on "Time and Vacation Entry" in the left-hand menu. Choose the option for "Time Sheet Entry" and follow the link for your employment category (support staff, service staff, or student). The electronic time sheet will prompt you to fill out the applicable fields for the current pay period. Note that the time sheet system is generally not available during midweek payroll processing (typically from 5:00 pm Monday to 3:00 pm Tuesday).
If you are a student, you are not eligible for the attendance/absence/shift options. Your time sheet will not contain these information fields. Instead, you must specify the "position" you worked on each day of your workweek from the dropdown menu on your sheet.
When you have completed and saved your time sheet, it is automatically submitted to your Time Approver. Note that you can edit your time sheet after saving it but only up to the point when it is approved. After that point, only your Time Approver can make edits (with the consent of your Supervisor).
So basically, how yours is set up currently, you are creating a new entry every time the action is preformed but you only want 1 entry per day, and just edit that entry throughout the day. That way all the data is consolidated into 1 line.
This is a blank time sheet to report hours if you are not able to complete time entry is ESS. This form must be completed and submitted to the payroll contact for your agency or to ERIC payroll via the AskHR tool or via email to ericp...@utah.gov.

The Department of Human Resources continues to strive in streamlining business processes while leveraging technology. As we continue to automate our HR system, we are establishing and implementing functionality for the automation of time and attendance, aggregate time reporting, rapid time entry and the elimination of manual submission of time sheets (including regular faculty). By implementing a time management solution, UMBC more accurately track bi-weekly hours of its workforce. Thus, UMBC elected to transition to an electronic timekeeping approach. Effective May, 2015, the UMBC campus community converted from a manual paper process to an electronic time sheet (ETS) process for the recording, approving and processing of time and leave data.
To ensure University compliance with USM policies in addition to federal and audit regulations, employees are expected to accurately complete and promptly submit time sheets while supervisors and/or time sheet approvers are expected to review and approve timekeeping records.
Employees should use the Salaried Non-Exempt/Hourly Time Sheet and Benefit Usage Report from the Human Resource Services website to report their time. They can ink sign and deliver to their supervisor for approval (physical copy or by scanning and emailing the document) or use an electronic signature. They should then email, from their NIU email account, their time sheet to their supervisor for approval.
Timekeepers should email the hourly timesheets for their department to pay...@niu.edu by 4:30 p.m. on the date the hourly summaries are due. All timesheets should be attached to one email. We will accept paper copies in the HR drop box outside the main HR building.
Timekeepers should maintain the email correspondence between employees and supervisors as well as any documentation on internal approval processes at the department level for audit purposes. It may be necessary to provide this documentation in future audits. Only the actual hourly timesheets should be emailed to pay...@niu.edu for review and processing.
