7th General Meeting!

PAC would like to thank everyone who was able to make it out to our 7th general meeting this past Thursday @ 4pm in front of Robek's! Friendship Games is coming up this week!! ARE YOU GUYS READY!?! And Congratulations to our PMOTW MIKEY SARMIENTO!!! Check the website www.lbpac.com to keep up with our PMOTW's for the year and to see why they won!

Clubbing and Cookies?!?! 

PAC would also like to say thanks for supporting us at our fundraisers this week. We hope you enjoyed the yummy treats sold at our bake sale! And we hope YOU had a blast at our club event @ Cantina Lounge! Thanks to everyone for coming out! More good times to come =D!

                                                       *************** 8th General Meeting *****************

You love PAC and we love you! This Thursday Oct. 28th is our 8th General Meeting! Same place as usual, 4pm in front of Robek's. But in case it rains then our meeting will be held indoors at LA-5 165. That's our back up room for the year in case it rains. If you ever have any concerns as to where' the meeting is being held feel free to contact any CAB member..

PAHM (Pilipino American Heritage Month)

PAHM still isn't over!! Are you guys having fun? Well this past week was Chi Delta Theta's Comedy Night and on behalf of One Nation we would like to say thanks for coming out! It was an amazing night filled with laughter and smiles ^^.

Want more PAHM goodness? Well this Thursday after the PAC meeting we will be heading out to Kappa Psi Epsilon's Pinay Symposium. It will be held at LA-2 109 from 6pm-9pm. Come and learn a little about Pilipina Women.

This is our last One Nation PAHM event but don't fret we will be ending it with a bang at FRIENDSHIP GAMES!!.

A Taste of Chicken, Hawaii, and Desserts!!

Hey PACers! We have a couple of fundraisers for this week. OPTIONS!!!! 

PAC and Kappa Psi Epsilon's fundraiser for the week is another Buffalo Wild Wing's Night. PAC and Kappa Psi Epsilon will be there this Wednesday at 8pm! The last time we were there it was very successful and everyone had a great time so come out! Chicken Wings and Karaoke! What more can you want?

Then this Thursday(ALL DAY) we will be having an L&L Fundraiser. Go grab a taste of Hawaii! Treat yourself before or after the PAC meeting. Flyer's will be available on the website soon!

And if your sweet tooth still hasn't been satisfied from last week's bake sale, we're also fundraising for PCN(Pilipino Culture Night)!!So come and support! Even more HOMEMADE GOODNESS! We'll all be posted in front of the LA-5 Area with a table set up this THURSDAY from 10am-3pm just like last week!! So if you're craving a sweet delectable treat, come on through and have some baked goods =D.

Since that's out of our system, lets get back to business. First off, we'd like to thank everyone who already paid for their F-Games Shirt! The shirts are $10 and you will need one for F-Games. You can still pay for your shirt this week and at this week's PAC meeting or contact any PAC CAB member!  You don't want to miss out on having this shirt! The design will be posted on this email once again for you all to see.

We also have F-Games practices for those who are interested in participating in the games. Practices will be held this Tuesday and Wednesday 6pm in front of ROBEK'S.

And our ANTI-FRIENDSHIP GAMES rally will be this Friday @ 6pm in front of ROBEK'S! If you paid for your shit or need one, we will be giving out the F-games shirts at the rally! Come through and learn why and how we are ANTI-FRIENDSHIP.It's gonna be a crazy night when we learn our chants, make our posters, think of props and just rally it up!

The day of F-Games we will be meeting up at 4:00am at the USU Parking Lot( By the BOWLING ALLEY). Everyone will be there prepping for the intense day to come! Last thing...

PAC CULTURAL NIGHTS!!!!

PAC Cultural is going good so far and if you're still interested it isn't too late!!

This Tuesday there will  be practice at the usual time , 6 PM IN FRONT OF ROBEKS! But there will NOT BE ANY PRACTICE THIS THURSDAY because we will be going to Buffalo Wild Wing's to support PAC's Fundraiser =D!

So come on through and learn some dances, or come meet some pretty cool people!

Thank you to everyone who came out and represented PAC at Make A Difference Day this past Saturday, October 23, 2010. Despite the light rain, we still managed to repaint the Boys and Girls Club that will surely help benefit the hundreds of kids and families who utilize the facility on a daily basis. 

We would also like to especially thank everyone who came out and supported our guest speakers at our last 7th general meeting. For those who of you who did not attend, Ben and Benjamin are Filipino hotel workers who work at the Hyatt in Long Beach. Accompanied by Alex Montances and Nikole Cababa of Anakbayan Los Angeles, our guest speakers discussed the issue of Filipino discrimination in the workplace and the need for support from the Filipino community. As a matter of fact, these Filipino hotel workers are not allowed to unionize, have been denied pay raises that they rightfully deserve, and are constantly forced to work in poor working conditions which often leads to frequent disabled injury. 

By signing the petition to boycott the services of the Hyatt and Hilton hotels, we as PAC,

 pledge to stand behind these discriminated Filipino workers and to continually support their rallies, unions, protests, and other movement efforts. In addition, w

e demand fair equal rights and justice for our fellow manongs and manangs from the hotel management. If you would like to support this cause but didn't get to sign the petition last week, we will be passing out another one at this upcoming meeting.

You want to get even MORE involved with the boycott campaign???

Here are a list of upcoming rallies and protests:

• Friday, October 29th - Hilton (7AM-9AM)
• Thursday, November 18 - Hyatt (7AM-9AM)
• Friday, November 19 - Hyatt (4:30PM-6:30PM)

So, we hope that you guys can come out support as much as you can. With our help, the manongs and manangs can develop a more powerful and influential voice in today's  politics. 

***Also, save the date for our next PAC Philanthropy event, Thursday, November 11, 2010, for the JFAV (Justice for Filipino American Veterans): Veteran's Day Rally. Come out with PAC and march down LA alongside our Filipino war veterans to fight for fair VA benefits. More information on this event will be given as November rolls through. In the mood to go clubbing? Well this Thursday there is a Halloween club event  at Khoury's! Prices are $5 before 11pm (if you are on the guest list).
