What's going on PACers?!?!?!?

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend! Here's a little peek as to what is happening this week =D.

5th General Meeting!

PAC would like to thank everyone who was able to make it out to our 5th general meeting this past Thursday @ 4pm in front of Robek's! One week closer to FRIENDSHIP GAMES!. And Congratulations to our PMOTW NASH ANGELES!!! Check the website www.lbpac.com to keep up with our PMOTW's for the year and to see why they won!

Poetry Night!! 

If you stuck around and followed PAC to the Soroptimist House for Poetry Night we would like to say thanks for coming out and supporting! It was an amazing night filled with awesome talent, new and old! And for those who came to just chill and watch, thanks for the good vibes! A special thanks to all the performers and to our DJ for that night Joseph Biscocho!  More good times to come throughout this October!

Can't get enough of PAC?! It's okay we're not going anywhere!! PAC will be having it's 6th general meeting on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 14th @ 4pm, in front of Robeks (where we usually have our meetings).


Things To Look Forward To!! Chicken And Clubbing?!?![Wing Stop and Buffalo Wild Wings and Cantina Lounge)


Are you craving some chicken wings?!?! I know I am! Come join PAC in our week long fundraiser @ Wing Stop! If you're craving some wings anytime this week, mention PAC and submit a flyer at the cashier and part of the proceeds will go to PAC and your future events! (Wing stop flyer attached to this email)  

Still can't get enough wings!! Well One Nation is also having a Buffalo Wild Wings fundraiser this Wednesday in Buena Park! So come join PAC, Zeta Phi Rho, Chi Delta Theta, and Kappa Psi Epsilon this Wednesday at Buffalo Wild Wings. You know you want to, 'cuz YOU love PAC and PAC loves YOU!

And October 21st is our next Clubbing Event! If you missed our first one here's your chance!  Thursday, October 21st PAC will be at Cantina Lounge at Fullerton! Presale tickets are $10! Hit up a cab member! 21+ is free before 11pm and at the door its $15 depending on capacity.

Pilipino American Heritage Month!


Poetry Night and P-Town tour were the first events for this year's PAHM and to continue Pilipino American Heritage Month, Zeta Phi Rho will be hosting their "Sounds of a New Hope" this Tuesday, October 12th! They will be screening this documentary and a Q n A will follow afterwards! They will also be having live performances from our very own PAC MODERN and others such as Krystle Tugadi and Shining Sons!.Come join PAC and One Nation in the festivities throughout PAHM! Hope to see you there!

HELL NO!! Friendship Games


It's getting closer and closer! F-Games is almost here! And our theme for this year is *Drumroll*......................

HATERADE!!!!

And this is where we need PAC members assistance. It's time to design this year's F-Games shirt. If you didn't know, Long Beach wears Black shirts, so you can base it on that and our THEME!!! We need possible T-shirt Designs turned into our Sports Coordinator, Kenneth Bautista (csulbpac.s...@gmail.com), by Thursday 12pm!! So if you have any ideas feel free to send it our way! We will also be collecting payments/sizes for the T-shirts for F-games. Come to the meeting this Thursday and let us know your size along with $10 for payment =D.


Make A Difference!




Hey PAC peoples! Make a Difference Day, is a "National Day of Doing Good" that promotes community service around the country with the emphasis on neighbors helping neighbors. This day occurs on Saturday October 23, 2010. For this special occasion, PAC general members and the CSULB Student Life and Development are invited to participate in an event called REBUILDING TOGETHER LONG BEACH. Participants have the opportunity to help build and paint houses located in the Long Beach area that will benefit low-income families which include the elderly and the disabled. This is an all-day event beginning at 7:30 AM until 5:00 PM. In order to participate in this event with PAC, please take the time in following these specific instructions on how to register:


 1. Go to http://www.csulb.edu/divisions/students/sld/events_and_programs/make_a_difference/

  • This should be the Student Life & Development web page with the title Make A Difference Day Saturday October 23, 2010 in bold near the top of the page.

2. Click on the "Get Involved!" button and fill out the form.

  • Under the topic OTHER INFORMATION, please put Pilipino American Coalition as the Group Name for the T-shirt.
  • Don't forget to click on Submit Registration at the bottom of the page after you have finished filling it out.

3. Next, print out and sign the MADD Waiver and University Waiver.

  • These waivers are attached to this e-mail OR you can download them at the same website listed in STEP 1.
  • Each waiver should be 2 pages long. 
  • On the MADD Waiver, where it says VOLUNTEER GROUP, please write in Pilipino American Coalition.
  • On the University Waiver, where it says FIELD TRIP, VOLUNTARY OR EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITY, please write Voluntary. For the DATE, please write Saturday October 23, 2010 and for ACTIVITY & LOCATION, Make A Difference Day - Rebuilding Together Long Beach (SLD)
4. After completely filling out both waivers, please bring these waivers to one of the PAC meetings every Thursday @ 4 PM in front of Robex. I will collect these waivers at the meetings and will turn it in for you. However, if you're unable to attend our meetings, you can turn in the waivers to the office of Student Life & Development (USU-215). ***You must sign and turn in both waivers in order to participate in this event. 

REMEMBER THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS 
THURSDAY OCTOBER 21, 2010!!! Please register as soon as possible to guarantee a spot for this event.



PAC CULTURAL and SKIT WRITERS!!!!


PAC Cultural is back! The last newsletter I gave you an idea of what it is, well if your still interested starting October 12th, PAC Cultural will be meeting up from 6-8pm ever Tuesday and Thursday! They will be in front of Robeks learning cultural dance such as Pansak, Tinikling, and more. So come out and join the fun =D.

Do you like dancing? Are you interested about Pilipino culture? Well why not kill 2 birds with one stone and learn Pilipino Cultural Dances! No experience is need and its fun to learn! PAC Cultural is PAC's cultural dance team that does performances to help raise money for PAC. And more money for PAC = more awesome events for you guys! So hit up our PCN Coordinators, Kyrstin Occiano (kocci...@yahoo.com) and Ajay Medina (dreee...@gmail.com) for sign ups and more info. Contacts are also on the website!

Speaking of PAC Cultural, Our 25th anniversary PCN has found it's Skit Writers!!! Everyone congratulate these persons when you see them!

6PAC with KB and Study Night with MG



Need to get your study on? Need to get your fitness on? We got you covered!!

Unfortunately this week we will not be able to have  6PAC with KB, but don't fret we will be back! 

BUT!!! if you need to get your study on for those awful midterms or you just need to study with some familiar faces around come join PAC and your academic/alumni chair, Mary Grace at the library every Wednesday from 6-7:30pm @ the 5th floor! Just find us  and join the study party!
