What's going on PACers?!?!?!?

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend! Here's a little peek as to what is happening this week =D.

9th General Meeting!

PAC would like to thank everyone who was able to make it out to our 9th general meeting on November 4th, Thursday @ 4pm in front of Robek's! And Congratulations to our PMOTW PAUL DE GUZMAN!!!! Check the website www.lbpac.com to keep up with our PMOTW's for the year and to see why they won!

JFAV!!!

PAC would also like to give a special thanks to all those who were able to come out to JFAV (Justice for Filipino American Veterans) Rally. It's important that we recognize those Filipino American Veterans that have not been acknowledged and fight for their cause.

                                                       *************** 10th General Meeting *****************
You love PAC and we love you! We didn't have a meeting last week due to the campus being closed but PAC returns this week at its usual time and place!! This Thursday, Nov 18th our 10th General Meeting will be held in  front of Robeks @ 4pm!! Hope to see you all there!! We're almost closing out the semester, let's keep it up =D!

Hyatt/Hilton Protest!!

Please come out and support the Filipino hotel workers who are being discriminated against by the Hyatt/Hilton hotel management!! Our manangs/manongs DESERVE the right to unionize, to have better pay, & to have SAFER working conditions. All general members and One Nation organizations are invited to come to the upcoming action/protest this Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 12 PM at the Hyatt Hotel located on Pine & Shoreline Drive.

Participants are also invited to attend the WORKPARTY Wednesday NOV 17 @ 7pm. For the WORKPARTY, meet in front of ROBEKS @ CSULB where we usually have our general PAC meetings. We will prep everyone for the protests, assign carpool and make signs and banners for the next day's protests. Please bring signs or postermaking supplies. Various organizations such as Anakbayan will also be giving speeches to reiterate why we are supporting this cause. Together and united we can create a powerful voice to help out our manangs and manongs!

~~Kapatids~~

Hey everyone!! So for our next meeting on NOV.18th we will be having a KAPATIDS THEME!!  Rep your family and wear your family colors =D. For every person wearing their family color, you will earn points for your fams!! If you didn't know what the colors are here it is:

North- Purple
West- Red
South- Blue
East- Green

so rep your fams and earn points @ our 10th General Meeting on NOV.18th!!

In addition to next meetings theme's we also have PENNY WARS!  EARN
 FAMILY POINTS!! Rep your family and earn bragging rights for the semester! What is Penny Wars? Well every meeting we will have 4 tin cans. One for every family! For every penny you add in to your family's tin can you gain a point. BUT!!! You can also sabotage other family's by adding silver coins to their cans. Silver coins count as negative points and are equivalent to its value. So a quarter is -25! Get it? Last semester's winner was West! Can your family come out on top this year? Rep your fams!

In addition to Penny Wars. We are rewarding those hard working students on their good grades. So if you have been getting A's and B's then let our Academic/Alumni chair Mary Grace Jalandoni know and points will be added to your family!!

 ~~~Family Sweaters!!~~~
So if you haven't already heard, every Family in PAC ( North, West, South, East ) have designed family sweaters!! If you would like to see what your family sweater design is and would like to purchase one contact the following people:
Anjelica Filamor- North
Kyrstin Occiano- West
Michael Suatengco- South
Donna Penalba- East
Sweaters are $15!! If you can't seem to contact these people, then any member in cab would be happy to assist. So rep your fams and get a sweater!! Money for sweaters are due by NOV.18th so we may sport them in time for BroomBall on DEC. 2nd!! Don't forget though in PAC we are all still one unit, one club, and one FAMILY!
Student/Faculty Mixer!!!
We will be having our Student/Faculty Mixer on Nov. 18th right after our meeting at LA-5 room 165!. So come through and mingle with our Pilipino Faculty. Ask questions and learn something new!
 Along with Pilipino faculty, there will be other faculty to advise us on different paths to take with our specific majors.
Last year we had a great turnout, so be sure to make it out this year! We will also be providing FREE snacks!!
FASGI Luncheon!
This Friday, November 19, come share the Thanksgiving holiday spirit by giving back to your community! This year PAC and the lovely sisters of Kappa Psi Epsilon are hosting our annual Thanksgiving FASGI Luncheon. FASGI stands for Filipino American Service Groups Incorporated. FASGI is a non-profit community based agency headquartered in Historic Filipinotown LA that is dedicated to serving low-income senior citizens. General members and all One Nation organizations are invited to help serve Thanksgiving meals and to also have the opportunity to get to know the lolos and lolas that FASGI continues to serve. We will also be playing games and giving out prizes to the senior citizens, followed by a DANCE PARTY! We will arrive at the Silverlake Medical Center in Historic Filipinotown LA by 1:30 PM. The program will start around 2-2:30 PM and will end before 5:00 PM. ALSO!!!!! If anyone would like to donate canned food such as mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes, gravy…etc. or drinks such as soda or juice, PAC will be collecting donations at our general meeting this Thursday.  For every donation, you will be rewarded with KAPATID POINTS towards your families!!!!
