Hi, a useful thread which I saw go round the NodeJS group, a few
months ago, was a group introduction. So, to kick it off:

I'm Chris Dew, and I've been wanting to try my project for 3 years.
I'm 36 and have been writing software since I used a neighbour's ZX81
as a child. I have a very lovely and supportive wife and a little boy
who's just learning to walk - so I don't want to spend *too* much time
on interesting projects.

I am very lucky to know quite a few talented developers, all around
the south of the UK. Some have kindly agreed to help test my project.

Previously I've used a dozen different languages, though I keep
falling back to Python, Javascript, C and Haskell. I currently work
for a vehicle tracking company, both producing embedded software and
having built a highly-available resource-tracking web front end -
http://www.xlocate.net/

I currently count Django, NodeJS, MySQL, Eclipse/PyDev and VIM amongst
the tools which which I'm familiar. I'd like to mention
http://www.viplugin.com/viplugin/ as it has made my work so much
easier.

My blog is here: http://www.barricane.com/
And my very messy github repo is here: https://github.com/chrisdew -
barricane-db and jshilbert are the only interesting/working things
here.

If there's anything I can do to help anyone else on this list with
their project, just let me know.

This navin kumar, new to london and still looking for a full time job.

I started off as a windows programmer, moved to .net and soon enough to open source.
I love javascript a lot, specially the way it handles functions. and yes, I have toyed around with node.js
I have made technology that handles huge volumes, including for a site that is a global top 500 site.
