Snapper Derby at Captree State Park

I'm going to the Snapper Derby tomorrow for all ages up to 16yrs
old...takes place from 8am-4pm. You just have to pay for parking...
$6. They rent fishing poles and tackle for the event. And they are
giving away prizes...the weather is going to be beautiful. I'll let

Weather turned out to be cool and cloudy. Fishing wasn't that great.
Kids who were in the Derby were scattered throughout the pier, so it
didn't really feel like a contest. It felt like any other day fishing
on the pier...needs to be organized a little better. Maybe rope off a
section just for the contest to keep the kids engaged and give them a
sense of competition.
