Unwanted War Correspondence: the technological and epistemological problem for the West
- · The technological disparity in warfare, especially in rocket warfare technology, between the US/Israel and their ‘opponents’ has been significantly reduced.
- · In this US/Israeli War with Iran, Iranian drones and missiles are proving to be very problematic for the US/Israel and perhaps the West more generally. These drones especially, which are relatively low cost, it is believed, are continuing to be manufactured as we speak.
- · This means that the US/Israel are likely to experience serious increasing and unanticipated damage from both drones and from ballistic missiles which are being aided in their satellite guidance by Russia and China.
- · A fundamental problem is that US/Israeli missile defense system sensors are extremely vulnerable to what are called missile defense counter measures (decoys) that have been developed extensively in recent years.
- · This technological development is now combined with a serious and very troublesome epistemological problem primarily evidenced in the West (NATO) and in the US especially. This epistemological problem is in the increasing absence of historical memory and knowledge … the absence of intelligence for decision making that is informed by history.
- · What has happened in the US especially has been a loss of historical memory especially in the military intelligence services.
- · Though Iran continues to suffer great damage, it is a huge country with nearly 90 million people. It is widely believed that things are now ‘hellish’ on the ground in Israel and that this is being hidden as best it can be by extreme censorship. Israel by comparison is very small and has a population of only a few million.
- · In addition and of great concern, is that Netanyahu is viewed by many, both Jews and others alike, to be a 'homicidal maniac' who is very likely to use a nuclear bomb in this War.
- · The Iranians, though not likely to use a nuclear bomb first, are estimated to have the capacity to construct several nuclear bombs quickly and would use them if they believed it to be necessary.
- · If these notes are anywhere close to the truth of this horrific War situation, one can then see the absolute necessity of bringing this War to an end … and that this must be the result of Russian and Chinese intervention and pressure on the US.
- · Also, the outrageous Israeli control over US rulers must end.

just below the surface of these lines below one can see and feel what is quite implicit
in my own viewing and summary interpretation of this highly relevant video link with Diesen and Postol ...
and it is this very particular and significant impact that technological issues are having on our understanding
of military conflict and warfare in this instance ...
and perhaps more generally, and again, in even exposing its folly for us as a species today.
... and then how this fuses with the more philosophical issue and concern for both epistemology and history,
and how our society can be imperiled by both superior technological developments
and equally by this impairment and even loss of intelligent collective memory in decision making ...
