Thanks John, as you know I've been reading Gilson and he says something similar to Oord's idea that "The Spirit will never withdraw nor abandon creation, because the Universal Lover necessarily indwells the experiences of creaturely others. God can’t leave us."  Gilson gives more freedom to the Divine, saying that both creation and destruction are possible, but after purposefully creating things why should we expect arbitrary destruction before the purpose is reached?
