Good morning SPFredericton,
We're forwarding an email received this AM from Bill
Carroll, a prominent Canadian critical sociologist and
ecosocialist. He will be speaking at a podcast hosted by
Concordia University this coming Wednesday at 7:30 PM
Atlantic. The topic, 'Is China's 'Ecological
Civilization' really eco-socialist?' is informed by his
recent field trip to China. The registration link is in
Bill's email, below.
Soon, SPFredericton will be announcing a seven-week
ecosocialism (in-person) reading group starting in October.
Note that all the events hosted or co-hosted by

Dear colleagues,
I am back from a student field trip to China, which I
co-led last month. We focused on China's Ecological
Civilization initiative, which is quite wide-ranging but has
garnered only slight coverage in western mainstream media.
Jasmine Perdon, a graduate student at Concordia University in
Montreal, who traveled with us in China, has kindly invited me
to speak at a podcast she hosts, next Wednesday at 3:30
Pacific, 6:30 Eastern.
Title is: 'Is China's 'Ecological Civilization' really
eco-socialist?'
The podcast is part of the 'Capitalism Can't Be Fixed'
initiative, out of Montreal.
