Hello Everybody.

I met with Natalie from SkillsMatter on Monday and we will hold the
first workshop on the 16th of April. After that it will reoccur every
third Thursday of each month. Book your calendar!

Obviously I would need help setting all this up. I have material for
the next 2/3 meetings. We will need to arrange talks and more. Makoto,
maybe you could do a presentation on Rhodes? Maybe Gears and mobile
web programming? Syncing is a hot topic as well...

The first workshop is more of a generic introduction following the FOM
presentation. I will amend it with further information.

BTW, something very exciting. GAE will have java soonish. Apparently
the aim is to have Android + GAE + eclipse integrated, thus you could
run heavy CPU/memory processes on the GAE cloud from android ;)

Cherio,
Carl

And now we have the URL:
You have to register in order to attend. There will be some goodies and maybe pizza and beer!

Hi, Carl.

Looks all good.  I won't be able to attend May meeting caz I have vacation planned, but maybe can do Rhodes demo in June.

What's GAE ?

GAE = google app engine. Google's version of Amazon's EC2.

On another note, Amazon released its own MapReduce infrastructure today.

There has been a lot of talk about ruby support since its first. Not really sure to be honest. Google mostly use Python internally as far as I know.
