Hi,

I have the deveolopers phone and live in London. I am not a developer
and made a bit of a mess of it when i tried to Root it. I cant seem
to get any of the updates and am back to using V1.0.

I dont have the time or knowlegde to really get into doing the root
myself and want to find someone that will help me out - i am willing
to pay to have the phone doing a couple of things:-

- I need to keep the phone on 02 service provider
- I want to be able to use the phone as a 3G modem
- I want the new version of the operating system installed - RC9 with
V1.5

I dont want to send the phone away to fix it and am willing to meet to
get this sorted. I have been trying to find a shop in london that can
do this for me but no-one seems to know what they are doing. Perhaps
there is a market for this sort of thing?

This is not spam and i am a genuine person. I love this phone but
find it incredibly frustrating that you have to perform manual updates
on it to get it to work the way that you want it to - probably the
opposite to all of the developers out there!

If you have any questions or can help please let me know.

Kind Regards

Ash

Hi Ash,

I must agree that getting the rooted version of the image onto the device is a bit of a mission. The blog posts have evolved since the time I rooted mine. Have you checked the following which seems to be quite detailed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442480

The first thing to note is that you need to flash the phone's firmware first in order to get root access. From there you ll be able to install any images such as CupCake etc...

Myself, I am not in London nor do I know when I ll be there next.

Good luck,
Carl

Carl,
That was the page where the problem started - i installed the 1st operating system, it then reset my phone to t-mobile and i couldnt do anything from that point on!
I need my phone for work so i took it to china town to get it unlocked, and am now left with this primitive version of the software.
Really annoying!
Thanks for the advice tho.
