Call for Collaboration. 

 We are looking for someone with experience in textile design and fabrication to collaborate with the MetaGestures Music project at Goldsmiths University. We are working on the design of hardware platform to acquire EMG (muscle tension) signals from the forearms of a performer and need someone to help us design a suitable armband to host the sensors and electrodes. The interested person is expected to both collaborate on the design and be able to fabricate the prototype.

 Design brief:

  - The armband should ideally be elastic so it can adapt to different forearm sizes.

  - It needs to be about 10cm in width

  - It needs to host 4 small PCBS, 4 electrode bars and a connector.

  - The electrode bars need to be movable, so probably these would not be sewn but placed using velcro.

  - The band should be easy to position and tighten using only one (opposing) hand.

 This is a paid commission.
