Hi MOOCers,
I was just chatting with Anish on LinkedIn and invited him to the Makers graduation next Friday:
I had been thinking that a makers academy graduation might be a good place to catch up - all welcome.
I probably can't stay out late drinking this coming Friday as I'm just recovering from a bout of pneumonia, but we do have graduations every 6 weeks. Our students present their projects - all over in about 45 minutes and then there's buffet and drink and stuff and a nice chance to have a chat.
I invited Pete Skead to one the other week, but was then off sick. Come along again Pete and I promise not to miss this one, health issues permitting :-)
See you guys at this or future graduation - I can give you a tour or our offices.
BTW, I'm having a lot of fun on codewars recently:
I just completed a binary genetic algorithm in ruby:
which got me thinking about Andrew Ng's machine learning course again, and I have half a mind to take the NN challenges from that course and slap them into codewars along with some chatbot stuff - "that's what she said!" anyone? :-)
There's something about codewars that I'm finding quite addictive and more enjoyable than a MOOC - I think one key thing is that after you complete a solution you can see all the other solutions that people have attempted - there's great learning there.
Anyhow, hope you're all well and looking forward to catching up with you soon.
