Hi,
It seems nVidia revealed a lot of new tech last night, namely the Pascal chips which are ten times faster than the preceding Maxwell chips.
http://youtu.be/Tb7ZYSTYHbwThey have the future chip, Volta, poised ominously in the future, although I doubt they're too worried about people sitting on their wallets to wait for it.
It looks like they're done the games market and they've set their sights on Deep Learning. Which is a small amount of a bugger since I rather relished the idea of using a system for a bit of deep learning, and a bit of graphical game play.
Now they've got a 4 TitanX board computer delivering 28 teraflops for $15k:
https://developer.nvidia.com/devboxThey liken it to a supercomputer from the year 2000, I like to think of it as the power of a mobile phone from 2025
Also their angling for self driving cars. With a drive by Elon Musk (is that he's real name?) spouting that self driving cars are no biggie.
Curious point how can a car be self driving if it doesn't have a sense of self? Or is Herbie a film come true?
