Intelligent Sensing Programme 42 - Internet of Things

Sensor devices are everywhere, and will play an increasingly important part in the Internet of Things revolution – indeed, a recent estimate predicts that by 2020, sensors will account for over 60% of the total installed base of the 30 billion devices in the 'Internet of Things'. - Energy Harvesting – how can devices be powered
- Creating actionable intelligence – how can the integration of multiple devices provide actionable intelligence to provide information greater than the sum of the individual parts

Human cognition - enabling navigation

Biosensors in Agriculture |

Agricultural science is a fast growing market, but faces a significant global challenges in the form of a rising population, rapid development of emerging economies and shortages of land, water and energy.
The aim of this workshop is to look at the sensing challenges in agriculture and to identify where current biosensors technology can be applied and where new biosensors technology is required.
In particular, this event will focus on:
- The major challenges in agricultural science and technology
- The contributions new biosensors can make to address these challenges
- Biosensors technology that can readily translate from healthcare to agriculture
- The requirements of new biosensors to address the sensing “gaps” in agriculture
- How biosensor-related projects can access the upcoming Agritech Catalyst call
