I've just turned up to use the lathe, and it won't turn on.... It feels like the big isolator on the back is broken, as it moves between on and off with no discernible click.....

Yes, I've checked the breaker!

That will be the switch on the back not physically turning the switch inside, we had an issue with it once when I was there.

I was the wrong side of the lathe to see what they actually did to sort it that time.

Perhaps the shaft has rounded off? Turn off the circuit breakers to isolate the lathe and open it up..

It needs a key to open the back of the cabinet..... Otherwise I'd have had a look at it.....

I'll pm you 9 key location...
I thought I'd fixed it but the issue was:
The door was a bit loose, and the switch mount was a bit wobbly. The combination caused the 2 parts of the switch to separate. As they should but not so easily

Simon fixed the issue Saturday evening and showed me what had happened. There's a piece of plastic which forms the connection between the knob on the door and the switch inside, somehow it had slipped completely inside the knob part and disconnected from the switch.
