Hi peeps - Mike from electricstuff.co.uk here.
I noticed you have a SMT oven on the wishlist - I can highly
reccommend this £50 toaster oven from CPC.
http://cpc.farnell.com/sanyo/sk-wq3uk/oven-grill-toaster/dp/OE05571?Ntt=sanyo+oven
Has a nice big window to observe what's going on, good for PCBs up
to about 200x250mm
I've done dozens of boards in mine includiung fine pitch FPGA stuff,
and not melted anything (except solder) yet! Of course I don't use
that lead free garbage..
It benefits from an external variac or triac controller (2KW rated) to
reduce the output during preheat, but it is possible to do this
manually by cycling the on/off button.

I also have a small Clarke MIG welder going free if you want it - I
think all it needs is a new bottle of gas and roll of wire - the
current wire is rusted and jams in the feeder.

I must get along to thr space sometime to take a look..!

Cheers, Mike;

I bought an oven a year or so ago on an offer from one of the discount shops - still sitting in it's box waiting for attention !

The welder would be very welcome, especially as we're not really sure what size to go for - I suspect we ought to get something biggish but that's not going to happen on the current budget. We need to start small and work up !

Do you want it collected or could you drop it in to the hackspace sometime ?

I'll probably come along Tues Eve - I've dug out a car boot-load of other goodies as well....

Fantastic. If you come by car, the best thing is to park in the loading bay (max 30 mins) then borrow a parking permit from the hackspace if there's one free or park on the street if not.
