Hi all. As anyone who has been to the space recently knows, things are looking pretty full up in there. To make a little more space, we're thinking of shedding a few unused or surplus items - detail below. For all of them we're looking into finding a good home, but we do need the space back so will have to take them to a local tip if we can't find one within the next month or two

We're really looking for someone to step up and take the lead on finding new homes/ buyers (facebook marketplace, gumtree or similar). If you think you could help out LHS with this please get in touch (you don't necessarily have to be physically nearby, we could arrange someone else to be there to show people the gear and arrange collection)

The items are:

    • Old air compressor (since we've recently been given a large heavy duty industrial version and a small portable unit for mobile use, and there's also visible corrosion inside the tank which could be unsafe so this is a 'sold for spares' case)

    • Brewing equipment - it's large and bulky but hasn't seen any use since before the move the Wembley, and it doesn't seem there's any likelihood of revival any time soon. Some of it in a nice usable condition, other bits perhaps less so.

    • Large flight case (550w x 1380l x 580h) - very nice and quite valuable to those who might need it, but not particularly useful for LHS

    • Old wood planer - although very rugged our existing planer (https://wiki.london.hackspace.org.uk/view/Equipment/Tyzack_Planer) is very heavy, immobile and very difficult to maintain, not to mention lacking safety features we would prefer to have from modern machines. We're going to get a decent cheaper benchtop model for the next little while while we look out for a good long-term replacement.

I might have a taker for the flight case. Any idea how much we want for it?
I recall the brewing equipment being used in Wembley to brew some mead.

We will have a chat internally about the flight case. I can confidently say the brewing kit hasn’t been used at least August 2019, possibly longer and unfortunately it’s just in the way now

Russ and some others drove the brewing system. Maybe offer it to Limehouse Labs ?

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you Henry, we think a fair contribution for the flight case should be £100-150 (it’s a £500 flight case new as it’s a custom size). Please let us know if that works for you

Sorry, but that’s way above my price range. If there are no takers, what will happen to it?
