Hi all

Our neighbours at Unit 27 were throwing away loads of stuff earlier and asked if we were interested in anything before chunking it.
I had a look and some good stuff were there (list below), some items I'm less convinced but I took everything I could think could be useful
(btw thanks to the 3 other HS members for their help moving the heavy stuff)

Being very aware of the "don't bring crap in the space" rule I'm listing everything below and I'll bin myself asap the unwanted objects:

Perspex:
- 6 very large sheets of perspex (red, blue, yellow, black, transparent).
Obviously would have to be cut before putting in the laser cutter (when repaired)

Wood:
- a nice document/tools shelve (painted grey), could be useful in workshop
- 1 new wood door
- 3 small doors for screen / paravent
- 2 nice small venitians blinds

Metal:
- 4-5 tripods and frame, some not working
- 2 metal grids
- 1 long corrugated iron sheet

Various / weird stuff:
- 100 Christmas balls (I know at least 1 of you is going to use that for a project)
- some really kinky outfits (already gone, you had to be there)
- a small screen for projector
- 2x 50m cables extension, not in great shape but some bits could be cut and re-used
- A bag of fake fruits (some very weird and creepy)
- box of glasses, ashtrays...

So like I said, some good stuff and some aiming to be binned quite soon if no takers.

I have to leave now so I put the sheets in front of the 3 weeks box but I've asked other members to move them
in right place, if not done I'll do it myself in tomorrow morning.

So let me know what's useful and what's not.

Marc

Other possible donations from Unit 27:

- very large transparent perspex
- wood staircase (3 meters high)
- 3 large table tops

Let us know NOW if you want any of those items or they're going to get binned today.

Any chance of measurements of the table tops? London-thread-space might
be interested in using one as a cutting table surface.

Here you go:

2 table tops 145cmx90cm (quite used)
1 white wood fence 185cmx95cm

btw Jose and I grabbed the huge transparent perspex from Unit 27 just now, we'll cut it in half as it's really large to store in the workshop safely.

Do the table tops have any fixings on them, or are they basically flat
sheets of wood?
Thinking if they're a matched pair, might be good to use to prototype
the vacuum station layout on.

Table tops are not matching and I didn't notice fixings unfortunately.

As for some of the other items: I'm going to throw/give away the remaining weird fake fruits and small Christmas balls unless somebody wants them.

I think the perspex would be very handy as we do get through it - so long as we can cut it down to lasercutter size

althought i'd love to dremel out a massive H in the blue sheet, stick paper behind it and backlight it as a massive hackspace wall light :)

we grabbed all the remaining perspex yesterday, I would recommend someone cut in half the largest sheets as there really a pain to store.
