We've got a slightly poorly but mostly functional Tektronics 555
("Triple Nickel") oscilloscope with power supply and some add-on modules
slowly gathering dust in a corner of our humble radio station. It's in
working order with the exception of the power supply fan which is in
need of some minor repair, and has a complete stand for the PSU and scope.
It needs a new home, and I figured a Hackspacer might be interested in
giving it a good place to live. It's a heck of a thing, proper valves
and everything, glows a lovely orange when running. If you're interested
in vintage electronics or want a (actually very capable, though analog)
free scope, or if you just want something to give your film/TV sets a
proper retro look (I've spotted 555s as set dressing in Warehouse 13,
several music videos and Fringe, for instance) give me a shout off-list.
I can probably drop it off for the cost of fuel/congestion charge
anywhere in London, or you can pick it up from Egham. You'll need a car
with a boot.
This will probably be around for the next 2 months before I drag it back
with me to Oxfordshire and either hoard it or try and find a place via
eBay, so let me know before then.

the same model, http://www.wrljet.com/tektronix/555/index.html has some
good teardown pictures)
