Hi Guys

Any ideas when these will happen?

What's the hold up? Is there something we can help with to get these moving?

Good call.  The only real problem currently is finding a venue: extrapolating from last year, we reckon there'll be at least 60 attendees this time, so we need somewhere bigger than upstairs-at-the-Cheshire-Cheese.  Of course, it would be great if we could move there afterwards, or somewhere equally comfortable.

Anyone know a venue suitable for 60+ people in either Hoxton or Holborn?

What about a webconference with a hook up in the space?

Shoreditch Town Hall Large Committee Room – if they have enough chairs…

Also,

There's a school around the corner, could we not use their hall? :)

Someone (Paul?) suggested downstairs at the Phoenix on Cavendish Square
on Tuesday night, which is easily big enough, has a PA, projector, and
a rather good bar upstairs. DC4420 meet there once a month.

If we can agree on a date I can make a few calls and see what I can sort out with these places...

It needs to be at least 31 days away from when we confirm it. And Wednesday or Thursday evening ideally. Otherwise it doesn't matter.

Then can I nominate the 5th December? Which is >31 days, a Wednesday and a day

Have you been downstairs at the phoenix? If we are expecting 60 odd people it might even be too big.

It was my suggestion (as was moving dc4420 there) because I think its a great pub. I'm not sure how good it would be for an AGM though.

Just a point on venues/pubs, we are getting into Christmas party season, so things will be getting booked up and expensive so it might be harder than usual...

Cheers,
Paul

We don't currently have the capability to do members' votes on OCO.
More generally, it's not common to need all members' approval for the
date of the AGM.

I can get us a room of that size (or bigger) in UCL (Euston).

Would that be good?

Nope! I can get it for free (and I could probably wangle some free tea/coffee).

If it's at UCL we're spitting distance from the Euston/Cider tap, the Bree Louise and Jeremy Bentham are both reasonable. We're about 20 min walk from the Bricklayer's arms and about 20 min bus south of the Southampton Arms as well as many other pubs

That's really kind of Helen but my vote would be for a meeting that was somewhere central and therefore convenient to all - followed by a trip to one of many pubs near UCL.

So what kind of size room should I book, for what time and when? Are we agreed on the 5th of December? Just let me know asap (so I can get us a nice room)

Are you sure you aren't getting Camberwell confused with Clerkenwell?

I can ask the folks at Mozilla London, just say the word.  We held a cryptoparty there with 120 people comfortably. 1) It's mozilla. 2) they are really friendly. 3) they have and awesome venue.

Mozilla London is an excellent venue, best option so far. I'll prod
my friends there to see what their calendar is like.

Tricky bit is finding the pub to retire to afterward...
