Head Mounted Displays

I've been given up to a grand for a HMD for the project I'm on but I need to get it from a UK supplier. The Vuzix ones I have are ok but can anyone think of anything better, or indeed, any other company that makes consumer HMDs?

Doing some research looks like vuzix are bringing out some better ones
with twin 852 x 480 LCD displays soon. Can you wait?

Not seen any uk suppliers of non-Vuzix glasses though. The glasses do
exist, they just don't seem to be shipped here.
