Hello all,

Due to popular naggin... demand, I will be placing a new labcoat order!

Sadly last time we didn't get enough people in on the order quickly enough, we need to see 15+ coats on the list in 4 weeks time to make it a viable order.

I have reset the order list to remove anyone who has since changed their mind (can't be doing with contacting each of you personally), so if you were on it before, please re add yourself.

So if you want your very own official London Hackspace labcoat then head over to the wiki http://wiki.london.hackspace.org.uk/view/Orders/Labcoats

Yay, thanks sol! name added

Love that they call the female labcoat 'princess' and are apparently modeled by someone with no clothes on other than the coat... wonder how that gender equality's going for them...

I have a photo of a female in my labcoat, it honestly looks like she isn't wearing anything under it (though I'm assured she was) so it may not be their fault it looks this way ;)

What's the turnaround time going to be?

Will we get them in time for giving them away as solstice gifts? :))

Billy you shouldn't. I've already got my name on the list <3

To be honest we have had delays with the orders in the past so I wouldn't like to promise  but there is a chance.

NP. I'll order one anyway.

By my reckoning that would work out at over 150 in embroidery costs, and
substantially more if they are as popular as I am expecting them to be. That
would go a good way towards the cost of an embroidery machine, they seem
to start at about 400 on ebay.

Anyone fancy starting a pledge?

To get one that will let you upload your own design, buy that software and also buy the labcoats at non reduced prices will be more of a cost/pain than you may think. The cost of the wiki is also a conservative over estimate.

Feel free to sort this separately but I would rather get them made right by a company I trust.

About sizes, should I expect an "L" to be like a standard European "L"
sized T-shirt, or do they run big/small?

If you follow the links to the product pages you can find the measurements for the sizing hidden on the page :)

Thanks -- anyone knows how those are measured? :-) I am guessing it's
chest size (just below the arms), but clothing sizes have always been
an arcane subject for me...

We have a proper place for Labcoats

It is on the wall in Unit 23`s left hand toilet. If the people responsible
for the assorted crap that is blocking access to this area could
move/balconise some of it then the coathooks could be useable again.

There are a lot of coats there that either belong to people that are no
longer members or have not been used for a long time for other reasons.
I will have a look at these over the weekend and put any that look unused
into a box to make hooks available for regular users. Fear not! I will
make a list of those stored so that those concerned will know where to
look.

Right, we have more than enough interest to place an order this time around so will bring the deadline down to the 30/11/12 so we can get the ball rolling quicker.

Thanks Sol. I'm super excited!

Regarding access to the coathooks, I definitely think we should balconise
some of the crap in there. Feels like a lot of wasted space at the
moment.

Hello all,

Currently waiting to hear back on the quote for the order. In the meantime I'm going to have to ask those of you who haven't added a size to your order to do so in the next 2 days or I will have to remove you from the list (nothing personal, but they don't do a magic one size fits all and I can't guess your size :) )

Best,

Dear oh-recently-returned-with-a-massive-mandate Solexious,

Is there any news from JKL?

I'm sure some hackers were hoping for a lab coat for Christmas. Some
of them must have been good this year.

Hello all,

Many apologies for the long delay, a mix of my lameness and lost emails I'm afraid.

But! I now have confirmed prices: (all include coat, embroidery and shipping)

Standard: £24
Evil: £25
Princess: £23

The bad news is that the XL Princess is out of stock until 13/03 and the small standard until mid Febuary. If you don't want to have to wait please fell free to change your order type, or cancel. (please pop me an email and update the wiki with your choice if you are effected by this)

"So sol, how do I get my damn labcoat already?"

Glad you asked!

You can either give me cash at the hackspace, or pop it in an envelope in my box with your labcoat name on (please let me know if you do this).

Alternately you can paypal me the cash charles...@gmail.com but *please* remember to check the box to pay the paypal fee yourself, otherwise I end up paying for part of your labcoat!

I know its been a while, so if you wish to cancel please pop me an email off list to let me know and update the wiki, the order should be fine as-long as not too many people pull out.

Also if you are not on the list yet, get yourself on it ASAP and arrange payment and you too could have one!

I know its a bit cheeky after making you wait all this time, but if you can sort out your payment etc ASAP it would be a great help, as with it being a group order I need to wait for everyone. This means I reserve the right to poke you ;)

Any questions?

Sol

I assume you've read the wiki:
http://wiki.london.hackspace.org.uk/view/Orders/Labcoats
"""2013-08-28 - The labcoats were ordered a month ago, however the
company are still waiting for stock in some sizes."""

That update was a month and a half ago though, so it would be nice to
get a new status report

Sol, just a short message to let you know that I still haven't heard anything about the labcoats you ordered last November.
Unfortunately I have been unable to keep track of the newsgroup updates regularly hence apologies if you have notified people in a different thread.

Many thanks in advance, just trying to get my daughter's coat as a Christmas present for this 2013

Regards
Dario

Hi Dario!

Been sending emails but not heard back from you, maybe they are getting junk mailed :)

They are at the space, let me know how's best to get it to you.

Best

Charles

Thanks Charles,

I'll swing past the space Wednesday if it's ok? In the mean time do you want to put them (XXL embroidered Dario and XS - Lucia) in my box: black one with DARIO spray-painted on the side, ground level,  couple of rows from the end of the shelving - if it suits you? Otherwise I'll check before I pop in Wednesday afternoon.

Many thanks again
Regards
Dario
