This may be overkill: has anyone hacked a bread maker to make yogurt?

If so, how much overkill is it?  Should I just get a good rice cooker instead?

Thanks!

It's silly overkill, and so is a rice cooker!
A typical yoghurt maker has a 25W heating element... you only need to keep it at 25°C or so.
The easiyo yoghurt maker relies on a litre of boiling water to keep the culture warm... all you need is a kettle! They're on ebay for a fiver!

Honestly,  just get an EasiYo,  you don't even have to use the sachets in the way they suggest either.

Over kill is the point. If it can be done it should be done 😆 hack all the things!

Thanks all!

@Matt, Tamsin: I didn't know about EasiYo - that's useful to know about.  (I've made yogurt in an insulated camping wine cooler in the past.)

I've just moved into a much smaller flat, so am trying to optimise on space use.  Thus, I want to use hardware I already have.

@Jake: yes to "hack all the things"!  I've always been both inspired and daunted by Sarah Spencer's Brother hack (first announced on this list in 2016, see https://groups.google.com/g/london-hack-space/c/J3HtR0boT2A/m/o1WJDK2jFAAJ !)
