I'm trying to find information on the design of coastal groynes to stop erosion,  the issue is the place where these are needed is a large tidal river bay, plenty of info on normal coasts and small rivers but I cannot find anything on bays, it's not a big bay and it is very shallow when tide is in and obvious where the drift is, sand one end rocks at the other. But No idea on the principles for bays.

Anyone got any ideas where I can find out.

The issue is that large amounts of growing land is at risk if this is not dealt with.

It's in a developing country.

I do not know much about the specifics but always understood groynes while protecting the area in question will often move the erosion further up the coast line.

Maybe reaching out to a local coastal based environment agency would bring some offers of help ?
