Charnwood Eco Hub launched just over a year ago in Loughborough with big ambitions to provide a decent makerspace alongside the scrapstore and library of things, but the imminent and unexpected ending of our premises agreement means the big workshop capability has to go - since we are now likely to occupy cheap town centre retail space where it’s not going to be feasible.
To this end I need a good home for the machines I have collected, and I need to be quick as we now only have a few weeks before the new owners of our current place take over and get the developers in. I have to move fast.
Major items include:
Trotec SP500 Laser (200W) with chiller 1,245 × 710 mm working area - 2010 but little used in the last 10 years https://www.troteclaser.com/static/pdf/sp500/technical-datasheet-sp500-en.pdf
Maxicam MAXI-S 0609 Compact Series CNC working area of 600 × 900 × 100 – barely used
Becker vacuum pump 2.2KW – with CNC or sold separately
Axminster cyclone dust extractor - 2.25 kW, 240 V single-phase Airflow: 3,700 m³/hr (would power a full ducting system)
Record Power DML 24X woodturning lathe – Made in England
Clarke Metalworker bench/floor pillar drill and (heavy!) pedestal base
C R Clarke Vacuum Former 1820 - sheet size 458 × 508
Scheppach HS120 table saw 240V 2,200 W motor, 315 mm blade
There’s other stuff too, as you might imagine, and there’s excellent scope for bundle deals.
I’m totally realistic about the limits of affordability and the logistics of actually getting these machines out of here and off to a new home. You’ll need a crane lorry to take the heavy ones from the first floor street doors (we’re in an old knitting mill) otherwise it’s a carry down the back stairs.
I’m not looking for anything like market value (provided there’s proper homes for each item that will be used and loved) but we do need to raise at least some money from this for funding the actual extraction of machines as well as the move to somewhere new and kitting it out. I’m sure you all understand that aspect!
