hello all,

i'm working on a project probably requiring crimping 0.5mm flex with male and female bullet connectors. i need about 50 of each male and female. i just bought a bunch from ebay that are shite. i also looked now at rs components to see if thats a more reliable option but the minimum is 100 of each and the female is 10p each. they need to be easy and fairly comfortable for a person to attach/ take apart regularly for a show. anyone have a tip off where to go please? i need them asap so needs to be a uk supplier
i'm also considering 12v dc connector jacks like these but it seems a bit lavish for a few nights of use for a performance.
any thoughts?
cheers

I got some of those DC-screw terminal connectors from BangGood recently and they seem fairly good.  If you're at the space later in the week I could meet and let you have a look.

A couple of other thoughts though:

Check out CPC who are usually significantly cheaper than RS.

What sort of power do they need to handle?  Is this for the choral performance costumes mentioned here previously?

How about 'Lucas' blade connectors rather than bullet, because the contact area is more predictable?

Hey jj,
thanks for your reply, yes its still the choir performance so each pair of connectors will be running 240mA at 12v. we sometimes use blade connectors but they're kind of uncomfortable to use and the folks at the show will probably be nervous so i want something easy. the BangGood looks exactly the kind that would work, i'd need to see if i can wait up to 8 working days. are they a reliable company? were the dc connectors you bought fairly sturdy and the terminals not crappy? CPC is already way cheaper thanks, i'll check the prices some more. really useful cheers. out of curiosity when were you thinking of heading over there? i could pop over after work one day

Cheers ian they look really good but perhaps a bit too beefy and large for my application this time around. I'll take a look more this evening though. Thanks for tip off

There's also the XT30 if you want to go smaller. And the XT90 if you wanna go bigger! The number on XTs indictates the nominal current but can peak at double.

e.g. The XT30 is designed for 30Amps but can carry 60Amps for very brief periods of time.

There's also the EC connector range where the number indictates the size of the bullet connectors.

thanks for your advice, i just went ahead and ordered the 12v dc jack connectors, which are expensive but they'll arrive quickly and on the night i think will be easy for the folks to use. i'll let you know how it goes!
cheers
