Hey guys, I'm Shashank and I'm part of the Tempo automation team based in the Bay area. We are currently building a "Makerbot for electronics" - a pick and place robot for custom PCBs and small production runs and looking to launch a crowdfunding campaign soon. We're still heavy in development, so would love to get any questions/thoughts/comments/feedback you have on the project!

Our mission is to bring the capability of lean electronics prototyping to everyone. After pick and place, we will be releasing solder paste dispensing, double-sided & through hole mftg capability, and reflow - in stages.

Thanks!

-Shashank

Hey guys, just wanted to check in again. Would our desktop pick and place robot be of interest to the members? If so, perhaps we could come demo at some point when one of us is in London in the next few months. (We're based in SF).

Are you donating one to the space?

I'm sure we'd be interested in what you're building, but I'm afraid the prospect of a sale is small. You might recruit some project members though - I'm not sure.

Your website is still broken for me.

The whois records say that the nameservers for tempoautomation.com are
ns6261.hostgator.com and ns6262.hostgator.com, but neither of those exist
for me, i've tried from 3 different networks...

I would love to see it. However I must say that for short run and custom jobs, a pcb making machine would be to die for, being the real pita process .. Everything else can be done with relative ease.
Ps your website works fine for me, from everywhere.

Cool, we'd be happy to demo if we make it to London soon! Even if the space is not interested in buying one when we launch, we'd love it if you shared the project with your mailing list. Is there a way to do that? I want to send you updates on our development and technical challenges as well to get your thoughts! As Paddy said, short run and custom jobs are a huge pita, and pick & place is just a start for us! Solder paste dispense, through-hole vias, double sided boards - will all be following in that order in our desktop robot - which we want to keep under $5K - so any and every makerspace can afford one.
