Does anybody think they may be able to help me work out how to identify which wires are which on the ebike Brushless Motor Controller.

This is a 36v 350w cheapo one off ebay from China (which came with no instructions). All I want to do with this controller is hook it up to the motor and verify that I can successfully get the motor running and responding to the throttle. I'll then probably swap to a more powerful/sophisticated (expensive) controller.

Unfortunately this one hasn't come with any wiring diagram.

My guesses are:

Big Red/Black are 36v power to the controller.
3 large wires with fluorescent green bullet connectors are the phase wires.

I suppose that if I apply 36v to the red black, I could then test for voltages on the other wires which may suggest that they all the wires to power the hall effect sensors.

But was wondering if anybody might be able to help suggest test & identify which are the other wires (brake shut off etc)

I am also going to contact the ebay seller (but not holding my breath considering that it only cost 8 quid delivered to the UK!)

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thx

Des

I think you're correct about the power and phase connectors. The hall sensors usually have 5 wires in a 6-pin socket with one pin missing. The throttle has three wires and could be the one on the far left of your picture. Brakes and other connections can vary.
