Hackney has been in the news a lot recently, and I would like you to consider the initiative proposed by James Governor (below) in how we as a group can collaborate and offer our support to this very worthwhile cause.

The discussion takes place on yeah! Hackney

"Hey everyone

After the terrible events this week I wanted to do something positive, and it struck me that smoothing the gradient between the Hackney where I live and the Hackney where I work might help us all. How do we encourage aspiration and help local people, particularly youth, see the range of opportunities the digital economy creates

We want to get Shoreditch out into the field, and get the field into Shoreditch. apprenticeships, internships, local training in building web apps. that kind of thing.

Tech City is in. London Metropolitan University is in. Mozilla is in. And some cool individuals. What about you? Are you in?"

In principle we're of course interested; but for us it's harder to coordinate unless a few people step forward and help out.

(I'll have a look at this over the weekend.)

Excuse my complete ignorance, but what does 'Hackney IRL' mean?

I thank you,

Hackney - in real life

Or at least that's what the urban dictionary said.

In Real Life
How could it be any other way than real ?
It just gets far too complicated if we have to question real.
Hmmm....
Perhaps this is an example of the inverse square law of Shoreditch
i.e the closer one gets to Shoreditch the more rationality goes out of the window...
Personally I blame media studies and property prices

(apologies to physics and Newton)
