privacy LCD screen modification - removed polariser + anti-glare filters

Hello world,

In the quiet room I'm about to pack away a modified LCD screen, like here:

There was a damaged LCD so I moded it and figure if anyone wants me to
leave it setup for them, probably should say here so I know before I
leave and pack it up. It's quite fun.

I originally wanted to do a hack to reproduce this:

However the efficiency of light through the panel is low, it's quite
hard to see without a huge backlight - I knew this was to be expected
but I think it's possible to be solved by trying to find polarised
filter with a better transparency as the stuff that was on there looks
almost black in colour.

I would love to see it, but I don't think I will have time to get to the space any time soon. Assuming I manage to
escape from Scotland tomorrow evening and fly back to London I then go to Huntingdon on Saturday, with
further silliness to follow. On the up side, with all this travelling I am not getting older quite as fast as I otherwise
would, if Einstein is to be believed.

I think it would be cool to have it mounted on the wall somewhere if anyone can think of something good enough
to feed it.

Yeah I totally agree that it would be awesome setup somewhere, it's
packed away now but maybe we can come up with enough cool ideas to
revisit it again later.

My commiserations to you. Huntingdon is one of those places you're old before you're born. Ask Einstein..he stayed away from that place his whole life.
