Hi

When laser cutting polygons created from inkscape using the rounded corners function, the paths don't join up when using the unite lines function and the paths cut twice.

I think the reason why is that when you use the rounding function, the dxf file is actually a path which is returns back to the origin along the same path as the outward bound cut, but not certain about that.

When exporting to the laser cutting software there is also two layers of path, one of which has to be deleted.

I have made a rectangle now with normal Bezier curves to get round this issue, but was wondering if anybody had any ideas how to export rounded corner polygons easily from inkcape to the lasercutter?

Are you making sure to convert the object to a path in inkscape?

Yep,

After you convert to paths and convert to dxf and then import to the laser cutter software the rectangle turns into 4 paths each with a side and a rounded corner, and unite lines doesn't bring them back into one shape..

I don't think we've got a license for rounded corners. That's probably why it doesn't work.
