Hi,

While at CCC camp I had a chat with someone who has a project doing an
open source AC Servo driver board:

https://github.com/rene-dev/stmbl

It looks like it would be the kind of thing we need to drive the 2nd
staubli arm or things with similar motors.

It's not quite in beta yet, but if you ask them nicely you can get boards
from them (made on there own pick and place machine!).

Getting it working requires knowledge of C programming and basic knowledge
of AC Servo motors (which I don't have).

Very nice, I wonder if it works with the Baldor servomotors. I'm not sure what feedback system they use. But here's the a photo of the encoder on a similar motor to the ones we have: https://www.flickr.com/photos/119240415@N06/12890143264/ if anyone more knowledgeable can figure out!

Hi,
our driver supports different feedback systems (encoder, resolver, ...).
We have four Baldor motors from a Staubli robot for testing. With a bit of tuning they work well with STMBL (the brake is a bit loose and rattles).
These motors have a normal resolver on the shaft and a multiturn resolver on the pcb. We just threw out the pcb and connected both cables directly with a pinheader (the one on the pcb works great).
If you post your motor numbers i can compare them to ours.
