Could whoever removed the feet from the environmental chamber please
return them ?
Put them in my box (artag) if you can't refit them on your own.

The moving of this is a good illustration of why changes should be
discussed on this list.

The chamber was moved from a position where it caused no harm, left in
the way in the middle of the room (perhaps because someone thought it
was easier to move it than find an extension cable and failed to put
it back), moved with probably the best of intentions to the darkroom
where the feet were removed and the cable damaged, moved out again
when the space was thought to be needed for other things and once
again left, unusable, in the way. It now needs repairs and a sensible
location.

It's all very well to follow rule 4, but sometimes it's better to get
your idea checked by someone else first. In particular, the middle of
the workshop floor is never a good place to leave something.

Planning is not bikeshedding.

Sorry, breaking things unnecessarily makes me grumpy. Free beer to
whoever finds the feet. They're little black plastic cubes.

We moved it out of the dark/wet room so Paddy D. could install the
sink in there. The biohackers have disowned it and feel it should not
be in the dark/wet room.
I was there when Paddy D. and Billy moved it out of the room - it did
not have feet on it and it was sat on its own cable already before
anyone I saw touched it.
It didn't get moved far and we examined the cable and found it was
damaged so clipped off the plug to keep anyone from electrocuting
themselves.

Yes it needs a sensible location. Not in the wet room though. I
believe the biohackers would prefer a mini fridge of similar
dimensions in the dark/wet room for their benefit instead.

No clue where the feet went to.

Yes the feet had obviously been removed so it fit under the worktop.
Disowned? I wondered why it had stayed where it is so long..

Very sorry about this: we threw away the feet as a couple were cracked
and they stopped the chamber fitting under the shelf in the dark room.
I figured they were worthless to the chamber, but I'll get some
replacements for you.

We sat it on the cable while reversing into the dark room, but I was
assured it wasn't damaged at all, so didn't think anything of it. We
should have tested it afterwards or mentioned this in the write-up for
the workshop tidying day. I'm guessing it just needs a new flex?

I entirely agree that changes should be discussed on the list, but
everyone that day agreed that it was ultimately destined for the dark
room, and that it only needed some people brave enough to clear the
dark room and move it. It certainly seemed odd for it to be sitting
on its own in the middle of the floor otherwise.

There should be space next to the wood pile for it now.

Don't worry - if they were broken then I'm happy to make some new
ones, ideally better than the originals. Didn't want to do that if the
originals were around.

Yes, the sitting in the middle of the floor is a bit of a pain.

By the wood pile or by the etch bench would be fine (I think there's
been some talk that it's no longer a good location for the tool rack
as there are lots of things that get put in front of it these days. It
could also go back in the members racks by the testgear - I cleared a
space there and it's only got a woodwork project in it at the moment.

Thanks for the information, esteemed hackers.

Yes it should just needs a new flex. It never stood a chance as it emerges
straight out of the bottom. All the conductors were bare at the exit
point.... Happy to help fitting a new one

This is why it had feet :)

The biohackers didn't disown it. We don't currently have a use for it, so I posted to the list on 24/11/2011 asking if anybody else used it. There was quite a lively response at that time.
