on the cisco switches:

changed the vtp domain to something saner.
enabled ssh
enabled snmp (need to get them in cacti)
enabled ntp (synced to babbage)
enabled some logging stuff (we don't have a syslog server).

deleted the "LHS-Test" wlan from the Ubiquiti Unifi thingy.

removed 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 from the list of dns servers that dhcpd on
church hands out cos it breaks using plain hostnames (e.g. "babbage",
"church") and also breaks dnssec.

(I'll put them back if they were there for a reason).

installed pylease on church to pretty print the dhcp leases.

fixed the MainRoomAP to 172.31.24.201 in dhcpd.conf (thats the ip it had
been given, i guess the unifi stuff does auto discovery)?

added a spacenet ssid to the Ubiquiti pointed at a radius server on boole

installed freeradius and slapd on boole

updated the github networking stuff with the changes i made for the
net-o-meter and also sync the state of networking/interfaces on church

add dhcpd.conf to github/networking as well.

added cisco1 and cisco2 to rev dns

added boole to dns (static ip on .10)

configure the dhclient on church to use lan.hack.rs as the domain name and
127.0.0.1 as the dns servers - now church can find babbage etc... (before
it was using the dns servers from our isp).

discovered that the cisco switches need "media rj45" on the ports that are
shared with the sfp ports to get them to use rj45...

put a trunk between cisco1 and cisco2 on port1

enable vtp on the cisco's for the hell of it.

setup the vlan thing that church and the adsl router use on cisco1

moved church to cisco1

moved most things to cisco1

removed the hp switch

repatched the rack a bit

church's psu got nudged in the process and it rebooted.

accepted that we will never get the rack door closed and moved on with my
life

got a 2nd power lead into the 2nd psu's on the cisco's

managed to get the rack swung back against the wall again <- this was
mildly epic.

ran apt-get upgrade on babbage - the kernel packages are held so not
upgraded, still needs a reboot at some point

-- which upgraded the unfi manager, which upgraded the firmware on the ap.

poked boarded - usb had flaked out at some point and boarded needed
restarting to re-open the /dev/dislayboard device

current state:
--------------

wiki even more out of date, will fix asap.

lots more work needed on spacefed

dunno what to do with church/boole, maybe do the swap and then we can turn
church into a 5Ghz AP?

Or upgrade the cerowrt box to a 5Ghz only AP?

HP switches can now be sold

The rack is a mess and needs more power sockets

P.S. who looks after hack.rs? It's due to expire soon...

Awesome stuff, thanks for the update.  Church could be used for anything really - perhaps it could take over the notification boards from Babbage, ready for that to become virtualised eventually.

Hack.rs is in my name - it should remind me for renewal in the next couple of days.

Now done - however i'm not sure it will work well, my phone has
difficulty connecting, it might be a problem with Android ICS and oldish
hostapd's - android trys to send normal packets before authentication is
complete so hostapd deauthenticates it. Upgrading openwrt might fix it but
i don't have time atm.

If people do start haveing problems with wifi in the space please just
switch the netgear ap off - it's the thin black box on top of the rack.

Tried to upgrade to attitude_adjustment-12.09-beta2 but appear to have
busted it.

Will have a go at recovering it tommorow.

It's switched off atm.

Working now and android seems happier, so hopefully we've got stable 5Ghz
wifi at the space! <fluttershy>yey</fluttershy>

added cisco1, cisco2 the wndr3700v2 and boole to cacti.
