What type of water do you use in the laser for cooling?

Oh I've had one a while and always use purified.... But the chemist has run out.
I wasn't sure I'd deionised was OK.

Ahh, cool. I normally pick up 5ltr battery water tubs from halfords, works out the cheapest place to walk in and buy from.

When I last did a clean of the laser cutter I purchased these:

30L for £17ish delivered - saved having to carry it to the space.

Ended up only needing to use 25L for the entire system, so 1 was
spare.

Bla bla bla bla.
Mines running  great on plain old tapwater.
The stuff isnt boiling off so you dont need  to worry about precipitate forming.

I can see how tap water would be ok but havent got the courage to try...

deionised or purified water becomes impure pretty quickly anyway after running around a laser/pump/bucket etc collecting all sorts of dust and microbes (ions?) after a few weeks... so maybe its fine.

Isnt london a hard water area though, what about limescale?
