Thanks Charles.

Also I got out of "soft stop error" once as well. I couldnt figure out what i did incorrectly. I imported my DWF file from a usb into the lasecut software grid display area.

Then I moved the file to the top right hand edge of the cuttable grid area (so the laser starts at the right hand top edge side).I pressed "download". Then a popupbox appeared and I cleared all previous files.

Downloaded the current  file from laser cut 5.3 with the "IMMEDIATE " checkbox ticked and the blue cross origin to the top left of the dwf file I imported. Then tried to test the area with " RUN BOX" . Then the soft stop error" occurred.

For some reason it thinks the area was out side the cutting area but it was not. ANY THOUGHTS?

Thanks Colin.

I dealt with a Soft Stop error which no amount of googling couldn't solve a couple of weeks ago. I was cutting with it, It was working fine, I let the American chappie with a bald head(anyone know his name) go in front of me. Came back to it and he must of changed a setting because the cutter was not operating how I had always known it to.... basically the corner closest to the computer screen is were we would always start it off to cut the artwork. but if you look on the software, the starting dot in relation to what position your artwork is is where it actually starts so...

I was starting it in that position which makes it think the dimensions of the laser bed is starting from there. So how I got it fixed was to move the start position to the other side of the bed or basically where that starting dot was on the software.

Just to help diagnosing this: i did a bunch of plywood cuts before these two chaps and there were no issues at all, perfect cuts all round

Not sure if I am 'the American chappie with the bald head but' that does describe me pretty well. I used the laser cutter last Monday week ago to cut some acrylic. It was working OK and I didn't change any settings. I assume that it was working all last week until Saturday?

Alright Tom, Yep thanks for confirming that you changed nothing... it's really weird, as you know it was working for me how I am normally used to  cutting then as soon as you left it came up with Soft Start and the way I had always known it to work was different. hopefully this fix becomes common knowledge because I literally wasted over an hour trying to get it to work.
