Hi,
What happened with the 3D printer last night? We had a 20 hour print running, but about 10 hours in someone seems to have turned the 3D printer off. Then at midnight someone hibernated the machine.
Its a pity because its wasted about £30 of feed stock, and 10 hours print time.
We'd like to try and understand how this happened (not ragin) so we can do something to prevent it happening in future. There are many times in the future where we will conceivably want to run even longer jobs than this, or when a part is time critical (imagine if this part was due for university project or the like)
Can anyone tell me what happened last night?
If it helps, it had stopped printing by the time I showed it to people around 8pm.
It had stopped printing - it was inactive for over half an hour doing
nothing - so I turned the Stratasys off and hibernated the machine
because it is annoyingly noisy and our electricity bills are
astronomical.

I estimated that, while it's running, the machine and the printer
combined use 1-2kW. That means it costs us £2-5 per day to run.
(Our total aggregate electricity usage currently is £350/month and,
considering I barely see the Stratasys turned off, I suspect it's
contributing between 20% and 50% of that.)

What's the state of the art on these things ? I look at the reprap
sites from time to time, but there are so many different choices it's
not often clear to me what the best options are.

Ferrets bro, ferrets! Little searching clawing chittering ferret hands and cable gnawing piercing chittering sharp ferret teeth all combined with the wirey squirming exploring ferret motion.
This new uber-extruder of yours, how much?
I want to retool one (or maybe two) and put it on my cnc mill
