Folks,

There is currently a pledge to get a knitting machine:

http://wiki.hackspace.org.uk/wiki/Pledges/Knitting_Machine

Following the failure to win the one on the page, Sol and I have been
keeping an eye out and occasionally bidding for them. The £170 budget
sadly doesn't give us quite enough buying power for most auctions. We
are currently watching another machine and planning to bid tonight. If
anyone else feels compelled to pledge, please do so by 16:30 today for
inclusion in today's bid. If you miss the 16:30 deadline, please sign
up anyway for the next auction to come along.

Regards,
Mike.

You could knit a rectangle with the Brother knitting machine and then seam it up for a tube (no heel) sock but it'd be pretty uncomfortable.
