Hey guys
I've just noticed the front door doesn't close properly when people come in.  As a temporary solution we should pull the door firmly shut behind us when coming in.  This was just demonstrated by a friendly old lady walking in thinking there was a nursery school here, unfortunately she had no toys on her for us to play with :(.

Anyway, we should probably take a look at this as its a pretty big security hole.   Possibly we could adjust the door closer, or modify the lock to shut more easily.

That door has been naff for quite a while now. If nobody at the space can improve the overall opening and shutting function, could it be put on some list within some budget to have a professional improve it?

It's not so much it is the same problem repeatedly, it's different niggles that come with a door being opened and closed 100 times a day.

It just needs maintance like the laser cutter does occasionally. I hadn't found the door to not be closing when I was in earlier in the week so it's just a different problem. For what it's worth, at least it opens a lot better than it used to. So that problem was fixed at least.

I'm sure someone at the space will tweak it a little again.

Does it use the same CISA electric lock that was on the old 'space door?

You'd probably be better with a couple of electromagnets or a shear magnet. Nothing to wear out then.

No.

Maybe.

I think part of the problem is that the front lobby is not very well
constructed and moves a bit so the door dosn't stay square.
