Dear all (again)!

As part of the stuff that I'm involved in with http://crisiscampldn.org/
the idea has come up proposing an evening OpenStreetMap (OSM -
http://www.openstreetmap.org/) workshop.

The workshop would (probably) be a teaching session lead by a domain
expert, followed by a session of mapping of Pakistan.

Two possible dates have been suggested: Wednesday 13th Oct. and
Wednesday 20th Oct.

http://london.hackspace.org.uk/events/ shows both dates as being free
ATM.

Is this the sort of thing I could organise for the space? Are the
dates *really* free? Would anyone be interested in attending?

Would you need financial contribution from "outsiders"?

Comments pretty please!

Either of those dates should be fine. The Google calendar is the
ultimate source of truth regarding space availability (I'll give you
editing rights so you can add to it).

Don't know how many people you're expecting, but you're probably going
to find the space fairly cramped with more than 10-15 people sitting
down.

About cost: our running costs for an evening are about £35. We don't
want to dictate fees but for non-profits we'd appreciate a donation
(in the donations box) of about that much.

Thanks Russ!

Although I have my CrisisCamp head on at the moment, I was proposing
organising and running this as a Hackspace event - offering to Space
members as well as my CrisisCamp contacts.

I'm happy to put 35 GBP into the pot though.

Can peeps please shout if they would be interested in a OpenStreetMap
workshop and some idea of preference between Wednesday 13th Oct. and
Wednesday 20th Oct.

Thanks!
Spike

OK.

The chosen date is now Wednesday 20th October from 19:00 to 21:00.
Time is open to change. I need to confirm a few details but hope to
get an Eventbrite page ready in a few days.

This event will be open to members of the 'space as well as Crisis
Camps peeps, but as space is limited I'm expecting to keep the numbers
to (say) 20.

Opps!

Just realised that I've not posted to location of the Eventbrite page
here - sorry!

Just to refresh!

Harry Wood from the worshipful guild of London Open Street Mappers
will be running a OSM workshop at the 'space on Wednesday evening -
that's the 20th Oct.

The Eventbright page is http://osmworkshop01.eventbrite.com/ . I've
split the 21 places into three classes, OSMers, Hackspacers, and
CrisisCampers - this is just so as we can get some idea of who's
coming.

Please can I ask you to sign-up if you are interested in coming on
Wednesday.

Many thanks!

Good morning!

As of a few moments ago, almost half the places for this workshop have
been taken - if you are planning to attend, please may I suggest that
you book your place now before it's too late!

I don't know if you are following Typhoon Megi (Juan) and its impact
on the Philippines, but there's a chance that we may consider changing
the target of this workshop.

BTW - there's live data here http://www.cs.colorado.edu/~starbird/aux_map.html

Spike,

I'm not a hackspace member (just their mailing list) but I've registered to the event as one. Will that be fine?

Right!

That's your lot! As of a few moments ago, all 18 tickets have gone.
