Dear brethren this was returned to me undelivered so I have re-sent to you; London and Oxford stay blessed.
Hiya all,
Interesting discussion this Saturday in Bournemouth. If you are like me and keenly follow the developments in the news here in the UK and else where in the world especially in the developing world (Africa notably) where several problems are rife, poverty, crime, natural disasters, disease, war, foreign debts, hunger etc the topic on justice can not be far from your mind. I have attached a video clip exemplifying a tiny spectacle of this injustice. Some may be shocked, laugh, get indignant etc at what is out there, this is the reality around us unfortunately.
It is a big embracing subject albeit academic too and hopefully will be actively discussed on this forum for some time to come. I presume we will only scatch the surface and consider issues nearer to us on
fair play. I have copied other Furaha Contact groups in London, Reading, Southampton, Coventry and Oxford on this too.
However for those deep diggers (soul searchers) like me, if I can take this discussion a notch higher. As a Christian I often ask my self of my role in this big picture of fair play(justice). Should I care? How am I or we being judged? What kind of spiritual and physical (wellbeing) impact would our involvement as Christians have out there, or what kind of justice would this lead to? People are free to do wherever they want. Should we be held accountable for their actions or does someone else need to take responsibility for the injustice? And who? The Politicians? The charity workers? Business executives? Do we have any past or exsisting role models on justice to emulate?
In the scriptures we read of a white garment which means righteousness.
'I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; my justice was like a robe and a turban.
I was eyes to the blind, and feet to the lame. I was a father to the poor, and I searched out the cause of him whom I did not know.' (Job 29:14-16)
We have no righteousness without Jesus who forgives us and clothes us with His presence. His love and compassion has/ should have replaced the me and the I within us and we begin to care for others more, becoming eyes for the blind, feet for the lame, a father to the poor.
'But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.'
(Amos 5:24)
Does this sound a similar note with John 7:37–38:
'If any one thirst, let him come to me and drink. He who believes in me, as the scripture has said, "Out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water."'
Every week we attend church or youth groups like Furaha, we come to the Lord and drink of His living waters, His presence, His righteousness. ..wait for it.... BUT.....
Can you point out those who are clothed with the right garments?
John 7:39....'Now this he said about the Spirit, which those who believed in him were to receive; for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.'
John the Baptist said in Mathew 3:11:
'I baptise you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry; he will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.'
Often times we equate the baptism of the Holy Spirit to spiritual tongues and other gifts alone, but ......what about justice? What about the fruit of the Spirit?
It's hard to talk of victory considering the present subject, but I would otherwise not do justice to the USAfrica team members and supporters out there. I will discuss this no further for now, lets meet Aje' on the pitch and we shall take it from there - now seriously guys/gals victory is ours, USAfrica oye! Ub and co watchout!
'I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.' For those whose hope is in Christ Jesus victory is ours - oye!
Continue in the blessings of our lord Jesus.
