If you're creating a sheet that requires users to enter data, you might want to restrict entry to a certain range of dates or numbers, or make sure that only positive whole numbers are entered. Excel can restrict data entry to certain cells by using data validation , prompt users to enter valid data when a cell is selected, and display an error message when a user enters invalid data.

Test the data validation to make sure that it's working correctly. Try entering both valid and invalid data in the cells to make sure that your settings are working as you intended and your messages are appearing when you expect.

Remove data validation - Select the cell or cells that contain the validation you want to delete, go to Data > Data Validation and in the data validation dialog box press Clear All, and then select OK.

Also make sure that you are putting the right SIN for the right spouse. If you need to go back & check what you put for your spouse, fill in the rest of your info, put in 811111111 for the SIN, and then click on Back at the bottom of the page. Double check the SIN for the 1st spouse & correct it if needed. Then click Continue, delete 811111111* and put in the SIN for the 2nd spouse.

I'm getting this error... Please enter a valid Social Insurance Number in the format of XXX XXX XXX. I'm not adding spaces but every time I press enter or Continue it adds a space between each 3 digits and fails

When you enter your social insurance number you can enter it together and yes, it will automatically put the spaces in for you. If it is saying that you are entering the wrong SIN then I suggest that you remove all information on the page and try again. I just tried starting a return with a spouse and entered SIN numbers and had no issue in the TurboTax Free version.

If you have completed tax returns in the past with TurboTax please verify that all the information is correct before you proceed. If you have and are still having issues please contact our phone support team who can view your screen and verify the issue.

My clients are required to put a valid credit card number on file when they book appointments online. Then after the appointment, I charge their card through Square. My question is this: Since they must re-enter a credit card number every time they book an appointment, sometimes the same client may choose to use a different card than they used when booking their last appointment. When I go to charge the card on file, there are two. How do I know which card is the most recent card they entered? I want to make sure I am charging the right one.

Hi @Ddumond - Do you charge the card while the customer is present (in person)? I think best practice in this type of situation is to confirm the last 4 digits of the card with the customer before charging. I know a lot of service businesses do this, but maybe some other service/appointment based business owners can weigh in!

I am stuck. I am trying to activate a home use license of AutoCAD on my Mac. Our company has AutoCAD maintenance subscription for full AutoCAD for PC. I have been given a serial number and product key by Autodesk and they agree that it should activate/register AutoCAD for Mac. However, I cannot get the serial number to work. I am seriously frustrated with this whole process and replying to closed support cases. I wish I could speak with someone on the phone and resolve this once and for all!

I get the error "The serial number you entered is not valid. Try again. (1)" everytime. I have tried installing/reinstalling AutoCAD for Mac 2015 and 2016. I have made sure I had the latest versions with any updates as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Ok, I found the solution, with a little luck. For a Home Use License, if you are trying to use a different version of AutoCAD (PC or Mac) than what your original product was purchased for; then make sure you use the Product Key for your original product. Example:

My company has AutoCAD 2015 (PC, Product Key: 001G1) and I have requested a Home Use License. I currently have a Mac and download AutoCAD 2015 for Mac (Product Key: 777G1) for home use. When you begin your initial installation and need to enter your Home Use Serial Number and Product Key, make sure you use the Product Key for your primary license, 001G1. And vice versa if you originally purchased AutoCAD for Mac. I made the mistake of using the Product Key for the PRODUCT I was installing and had a hard time. Good Luck!

I want to validate or identifying that the entered number is valid or not? For ex. i enter the number +91xxxxxxxxxx . Now i want to check that this number is real number or not? I don't want to use SMS gateway or calling system to identify the number.Like whatsapp.Whatsapp can identifying that the entered number is correct or not as per the country.

My father in law got a few nasty bills in a row from Bell, so he wanted to explore PM. I was telling him about the legion of benefits. Yesterday, he came by with a PM sim, his existing phone (with existing Bell # still active so we could port it over), and I intended to sign him up.

I started the process on activate.publicmobile.ca and got to the second step of transferring his phone number. Whenever we entered his existing Bell number, I got the "Enter a valid Canadian Phone Number" error. I tried in multiple browsers, incognito windows, rebooted, waited and tried again etc...nothing worked.

We'll try again this week sometime, in case it was a system glitch, but just wanted to ask here to see if anyone's encountering this and, if so, what the fix is. (He'd prefer to not have to sign up for a temporary PM number and port over after.)

Well everyone has a reason I'm unsure why there's so much reluctance around activating with a temporary phone number? In some cases this is a requirement but additionally PM is known for SIM cards not provisioning correctly upon activation. If this happens when you have ported your phone number in upon activation you then have no services working whereas if the problem occurs with a temporary phone number you at least still have an active SIM card or landline or other provider service to rely on while you get the SIM card properly provisioned to the account.

The other advantage to choosing a temporary phone number at activation if you can choose it from anywhere. The last seven or eight activations I have done I have chosen an Alberta phone number as a temporary phone number. This has allowed my referral to only have to pay GST on their initial plan and represents a savings of between 7 and 10% depending on the province/area code of the eventual permanent phone number. I've done this regardless of whether they need a new phone number or they are porting in their phone number they then just log in after activation and change their phone number to whatever they like or initiate the port request of their own phone number.

@hTideGnow Yes, I've never understood why names similar to customer support have been accepted. I'm sure quite a few customers have not only sent these users private messages, but probably shared some personal/sensitive info as well.

I am trying to set up my recurrence box. I have a problem with entering "At these minutes" value. If I enter a number I am getting "Enter a valid array error". If I enter an array, like [1], I am getting "Invalid minutes value" error.
