Midwest Co-op Tour

Hey all:

Sorry for the flurry of emails today - we're just super excited by everyone's enthusiasm!  Jerry and I thought it might be helpful, and fun, to tour some area food co-ops.  This would give people a chance to visit a few co-op's to see what they're all about.  We're thinking about driving to Madison to visit 2 co-ops there, followed by a visit to 2 other co-ops located just south of Madison.  It takes about 2.5 hours to get to Madison.

Tour break-down:

• Leave around 8:00 AM
• Willy Street Co-op, Madison, WI - 20,000 square foot store opened in 1973
• Regent Market Co-op, Madison, WI - opened in 1998
• Yahara River Grocery Co-op, Stoughton, WI - opened in 2006
• Basics Cooperative**, Janesville, WI - 15,000 square foot store opened in 1977 (** depending on time)

It would probably be best to do the tour sooner than later (who wants to drive North in January...).  If you are interested in attending, please indicate which date(s) will work for you by taking this Doodle poll

Don't worry if you can't make it.  We'll plan another "tour" in the Spring if it's something people are interested in.

Phenomenal idea! I would love to go (I went to UW-Madison) but will have to wait till Spring, as my fall is very busy.

Just to follow-up on the Midwest co-op tour - we will postpone until Spring, since few people could make it this winter and many have expressed interest in attending, but cannot until Spring.  So, look for another email in early Spring to try and pick a better time to do this.
