I will be in B1012 at Fanshawe and open the room for LoLug at 7:00 PM

My students will not be there as a class so I think we can have a more formal meeting.

I propose the following agenda:

a)  about 15 minuets to say hello.
b)  1 or two presentations
c)  Discus net months meeting format and agenda.
d)  then time to chat and learn from each other.

Who has a presentation ready?

If anyone has a better agenda or items to add or change please speak up now.

I have a presentation on "How to make a debian package" made up, basically targeting somebody with a small set of custom utilities and files you want to package to deploy on several computers (or just store on launchpad's PPA system).

I'll be covering:
- Creating the debian package to support your files
- Handling upgrades, and importance of the changelog.
- Uploading to your personal repository on launchpad.net (there seem to be a fair number of Ubuntu users, so this should be useful)
- An extremely simplistic overview of using git aid in this process.
- I'll have a brief example of backporting and/or patching of a third-party package.
- A few extra notes and observations about some issues you may come across.

I may add notes to the slides based on feedback and questions in-class, so I'll be posting them after the meeting.

I'm afraid I won't be attending the meeting. I had my wisdom teeth
removed today. So I'll be recuperating before classes start.
That, and weather and car troubles are limiting my driving.
Certainly sounds like an interesting presentation though.
Wish you all the best this month. Perhaps I'll see some of you around
the school.
