Hi bill, I am glad that wine worked for you.

Did you try Lotus123 yet?

Yes Doug, I installed 123 and it opens as expected. I was able to
customize the default settings etc.
(1) When I open "wine" I see the icon to start Lotus 123, I also see
icons for other "*.exe" features associated with Lotus 123. I would like
to know how to delete or remove these icons. The associated feature
program files do not need to be removed.
I have saved a custom toolbar with custom buttons and assoc. macros for
use in my Windows environment installations that I have on various
computers. Each time I create a new installation, as I have just done, I
import this folder containing these custom features. This ensures each
copy of Lotus manages all my files in exactly the same way.
(2)Now, I need to find the files and folders for 123 that are in wine
and replace an existing folders with the folder that contains my custom
toolbar, custom buttons and associated macros.
I have tried to see/find these files but have not been successful. I am
stuck, unable to find the "Dos tree" in WINE. I know this is basic, but
this is where I am at. I intended to go to the Ubuntu Q&A site, but if
you would like to pitch in, it will be appreciated.

Your home folder will contain a hidden folder called .wine  notice the period in front of wine.  Anyway, in your file manager(i'm assuming your using gnome and naulilus) press ctrl-h to show hidden folders.  Or click view then show hidden folders.  once you're in the .wine folder you should see the drive_c folder which leads to all your happy windoze files.  Hope that helps. :)

This is beyond my experience. You should ask on the wine list.

Thanks Doug, that is ok. I see Curtis Nixon is offering some ideas, so I
will work on them. This is not dire issue and I am sure I'll get what I
need sooner or later.

Hi,
Thanks, I found the folder "WINW"and was able to see my files and made
the changes to Lotus as needed. What remains now is too determine how to
delete the un-necessary icons that are present when I open wine. I've
tried pressing "Delete" and R-click etc. with no luck.

Yes I did, and the tool bar loaded properly and the buttons worked as
well. One more giant step away from MS! Almost home, just a bit of
cleaning up, some practice with the new environment, then Bye Bye M.S.
