Born on 26 January, 1980, Kiran began his film career with Telugu film Chitram in 2000. The movie was a super hit. Nuvvu Nenu, Manasantha Nuvve and Sriram were some of the other films in which the actor won fans with his performances.
A police officer quoted his wife and other family members as saying that he was in deep depression for the last few days. His depression may have been caused by him not being able to get a role since February 2013.
On the day Kiran allegedly committed suicide, he had refused to attend the birthday party of a relative in the city on Sunday night and asked his wife, Vishitha, to represent him at that event. Vishitha grew suspicious when he did not respond to her phone calls. She rushed back home and found him hanging from the ceiling. With the help of neighbours, she took him to hospital.

A Gram-positive, spore-forming bacillus was isolated from a sample taken from an approximately 2000-year-old shaft-tomb located in the Mexican state of Jalisco, near the city of Tequila. Tentative identification using conventional biochemical analysis consistently identified the isolate as Bacillus subtilis. DNA isolated from the tomb isolate, strain 10b(T), and closely related species was used to amplify a Bacillus-specific portion of the highly conserved 16S rRNA gene and an internal region of the superoxide dismutase gene (sodA(int)). Trees derived from maximum-likelihood methods applied to the sodA(int) sequences yielded non-zero branch lengths between strain 10b(T) and its closest relative, whereas a comparison of a Bacillus-specific 546 bp amplicon of the 16S rRNA gene demonstrated 99 % similarity with B. subtilis. Although the 16S rRNA gene sequences of strain 10b(T) and B. subtilis were 99 % similar, PFGE of NotI-digested DNA of strain 10b(T) revealed a restriction profile that was considerably different from those of B. subtilis and other closely related species. Whereas qualitative differences in whole-cell fatty acids were not observed, significant quantitative differences were found to exist between strain 10b(T) and each of the other closely related Bacillus species examined. In addition, DNA-DNA hybridization studies demonstrated that strain 10b(T) had a relatedness value of less than 70 % with B. subtilis and other closely related species. Evidence from the sodA(int) sequences, whole-cell fatty acid profiles and PFGE analysis, together with results from DNA-DNA hybridization studies, justify the classification of strain 10b(T) as representing a distinct species, for which the name Bacillus tequilensis sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is 10b(T) (=ATCC BAA-819(T)=NCTC 13306(T)).
Chitra Santhe is an annual art event conducted by Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath in association with the Government of Karnataka. They receive over 5000 applications from artists across the country, every year and only 1500-2000 applicants are selected to participate.
Kumarapark Road (Bengaluru), where CKP is located is closed for vehicles on this day and stalls are allocated to selected artists on the road pavement. The event starts at 8 AM and goes on till 8 PM.
My stall was located on the entrance of Crescent Road, which is opposite to the entrance of CKP. I was a bit disappointed, as it is the main road (Kumarapark road) that receives the maximum crowd as compared to the lanes. However, I arranged all my artworks neatly and ensured visibility to everyone passing through my stall.
Interested patrons crowded at my stall to enquire about the prices, custom work, and appreciate the artworks. Well, we also requested everyone to tag us on Instagram if they uploaded the pictures. Some of them did.
In conversations with other artists, I realized that everyone faced the same issue. I saw a family haggling with an artist for almost 45 minutes before going away satisfied with a bunch of artworks. Well, the artist was satisfied, or was she?
I appreciate Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath and the Government of Karnataka to organize such an event at a grand scale. It is not easy, especially after two years of COVID-19 induced break. An art exhibition along with cultural events and felicitation ceremonies all happening on a single day is really special.
The summer was unrelenting and everyone including artists, visitors, and volunteers braved the heat to make it successful. Yes, the crowd was a bit less as compared to pre-covid Chitra Santhe. Hopefully it will be back to normal next year.
Every artist, especially beginners, aspire to participate in this platform as they get a good exposure. It is an event where art lovers, collectors, and connoisseurs assemble to view and buy what they like.
Some directives by Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath and The Government of Karnataka in the future Chitra Santhe events can be helpful to artists. Lack of awareness is the main issue and I hope people understand what goes behind creating that wonderful piece of art.
