synchronous request ?

On Mac OS X, using the SDK, WPS_location() seems to create a
synchronous request blocking all the application until the response is
obtained from Skyhook servers. About 2 to 3 seconds. Since there is no
parameter in the SDK to make the request asynchronous, I wonder if I
missed something or if that's by design.
